3D histopathologic-3D automated breast ultrasound correlation.
The normal breast is composed of a varying amount of fibroglandular tissue. Reading the mammograms of women with dense breasts is a challenge and, unfortunately, one of every three invasive breast cancers sized 1-14 mm is missed due to the surrounding dense fibroglandular tissue. This lecture describes the problem but also provides a solution to imaging breasts containing dense fibroglandular tissue.
